On this project the concrete is being poured between steel formwork, in panels of 4'-0" x 2'-0", each panel framed and stiffen- ed with mild steel angles. Adjustable steel props and telescopic supports are being used to carry floor slabs during construction and very good surface finishes are being achieved. Approximately 22 miles of piling has been used. in reclaimed land.
On both estates a dual plumbing system has been installed, using plastic piping for the salt water Hushing service. This, at Fuk Loi. has necessitated the Authority putting in its own 8" high pressure supply main pumped almost one quarter of a mile from the sea.
Pursuant to the Authority's policy, all rents are based on the gross area
of each flat. and are fixed at an economic level in order that the income will cover all management expenses and other outgoings, in- cluding the amortisation of the total capital expenditure land, buildings, fees and administration) on particular scheme.
