CREMATORIUM AT CAPE COLLINSON
IN the article on the Cape Collin- son. Hong Kong. Crematorium in the April issue of the Hong Kong and Far East Builder. by a regretted oversight no mention was made of the essential work carried out by Messrs. Dowson and Mason Ltd.. (members of the United Gas Industry group of Manchester. and their local agents. Messrs. Wallem Lam- bert Brothers Ltd.. in designing and equipping the crematoriumi.
While the Crematorium was in the drawing board stage. Mr. Leslie Leonard, a director of Dowson and Mason Ltd.. spent two weeks in Hong Kong in consultation with the Architectural Office of the Public Works Department. giving the be- nefit of his company's wide perience in the fitting out of crema- toria in all parts of the world.

In the completed Cape Collinson Crematorium, which is at present the largest crematorium in the world. the cremators. exhaust fans, catafal- que hoists and their ancillary equip ment were designed by Messrs. Dowson and Mason Ltd. They were were installed by the Taikoo Dock- yard and Engineering Co. of Hong Kong Ltd. as sub-contractors to the Hong Kong Government.
SERVICES' HOSPITAL
A new 260 bed hospital is being built in King's Park. Kowloon for members of the three services and their families.
The site has already been formed from the rugged hill which formerly occupied the area between Wylie Road and the Kowloon-Canton Raii- way and the substructure of the 11- storey building finished.
The existing hospitals at Bowen Road and Mount Kellett will be handed
to the Hong Kong Government when the new hospital is completed.

An area of nearly seven acres of flat land adjoining the hospital will be developed as the Command Play- ing Fields.
In all about 28 acres of formed land has been made available by cutting into the hills at King's Park.
