WILD TO Compass Theodolite ..

Small handy instrument. Used mainly for compass traversing, determination of ground control points in photogrammetry and on building yards.

Accuracy of circle readings 1' or 2o

Telescope with internal focusing and coated lenses. May be used either as builder's theodolite (fixed horizontal circle) or compass theodolite.

The compass - circle in the interior of the instru- ment has a sapphire centre working on a conically ground needle-point, & carries a strongly-magnetised needle which orientates it to the North. By raising the circle off its needle - point it is automatically fixed to the lower part, thus converting the instru- ment into a theodolite proper with the great advan- tage of reading by coincidence - micrometer.
