On the strength of our connection with this building publication, we decided we would like to see if the interior design confirmed the pleasant impression we had formed, and brazenly ringing the bell we requested the owner's permission to look over his residence. The owner, Mr. Li Chok Lai, not only forgave us for invading his privacy

but showed us around the house personally, and as we went through room by room, we could not but be impressed by its construction and design.

A rather interesting feature of the house is that, although it fronts southwards on Po Shan Road, the mag- nificent view of the harbour can only be seen from the

Three photographs of the Liv- ing and Dining Rooms. Note particularly the clever use of mirrors as a decorative wall feature, a device which not only brightens up the rooms, but increases the apparent depth. The furniture has also been disposed so as to emphasise the spaciousness, yet allows of cosy sociability.
