The range of Red Head self-drilling concrete anchors, made by Phillips Drill Co., Inc., Michigan City, Indiana, USA, has been increased by the addi- tion of a new sleeve anchor line.

The new anchor is a pre-assembled product that includes nut, washer and

anchor. A special coined expansion ring at the bottom flares out over the cone allowing complete expansion and thus high holding power.

There are nine different job design- ed head styles: acorn nut, hex nut, round head, Phillips round head, flat head, flat head threshold, Phillips flat head, stud bolt and tie wire. Anchor diameters range from in. to in. Drill size and anchor size are the same.

BUILDING GLASS

Pilkington Bros., St. Helens, Lancs., UK, have increased the range of their Spectrafloat bronze heat-re- jecting glass. Two new thicknesses, 10mm and 12mm, have been intro- duced to supplement the 6mm thick ness launched last year. Maximum size for 10mm will be 4570mm by 3050mm and for 12mm, 4950mm by 3050mm.

The glass, made by the electro-float process invented by Pilkington, com- bines heat and light attenuating pro-

perties with an attractive bronze tint. It can reduce discomfort from over- heating inside buildings and reduce air conditioning costs. The new thick- nesses mean that Spectrafloat can now be glazed in larger areas and where high wind-loading has to be resisted.

DOOR CLOSER

The new Commissionaire door closer measures only 24in. high by 1in. wide by 1-3/8in. deep and will operate on left or right-hung doors. The tension is adjustable.

Housed in a white acetal case, the closer itself embodies a torsion spring that impinges on a cap with four threaded metal bushes around its peri- meter.

Installation consists simply of fix- ing the closer to the door jamb with four screws. The slack is taken up by inserting a tommy bar in the bush nearest the door and turning the cap

anti-clockwise to wind up the spring. When the required tension has been reached, the actuating arm is screwed into one of the bushes and the 31⁄44in. long by in. wide plate pinned to the door.

ESCALATOR

Hitachi have designed an all-stain- less steel escalator for outdoor use.

BATHROOM FITTINGS

Washbasin, w.c., and bidet consti- tute the new Brasilia range of vitreous- china bathroom fittings. This luxury suite has an attractive moulded shape with oval openings, and is available in white and in pale shades of blue, brown, green, pink or yellow.

The w.c. comprises a double-trap syphonic bowl and close-coupled cis- tern, produced with a plastic ring seat styled to match the contours of the bowl. The cistern incorporates a plastic valveless syphon, lin. (13 mm.) ball valve and in (19 mm.) overflow. The top of the 8 in. deep cistern is 31 in. from the floor (203 and 787 mm.), while the bowl measures 151⁄21⁄2 in. high by 19 in. wide by 271⁄2 in. deep (292 by 484 by 700 mm.), and, like the bidet, has a built-in fixing plate for bolting to the floor.

The bidet resembles the closet in overall shape, but measures 151⁄2 in. high, 15 in. wide and 23 in. deep (393, 381 and 584 mm.). It has mixer fittings, a pop-up waste and a transfer
