Cover: Floor loads from the 14 upper levels of the 220 ft. high tower office block which forms part of the new Mag- saysay Centre in Manila are transmitted through peripheral columns to a structural floor, then down to 12 massive free-stand- ing columns. The 12 columns, each 4 ft. square and clad in travertine marble, carry as much as 5 million lb. Structural design for the reinforced concrete columns was devised by Alfred A. Yee & Associates, Honolulu. Architects for the centre are Luz, Arcenas, Payumo, Garcia & Associates, Manila.
