Side elevation of pavilion model showing how the entire canopy is suspended from the masts, which are of box section formed by welding together four universal beam profiles
Anciliary administrative and main- tenance buildings are approached from under the pavilion canopy and are treated in such a way that they appear as part of the landscape.
Architects for the pavilion are the London firm of Powell and Moya whose projects have included the huge Churchill Gardens housing pro- ject at Pimlico, London, and the ver-
tical Skylon feature for the Festival of Britain South Bank Exhibition in 1951. They are currently working on a new Museum of London.
Working in association with them are the Tokyo firm, Takaki and Dodd. Mr. Hideniro Takaki, who studied in Britain and graduated at Cambridge University, is one of Japan's leading architects and has designed many com-
mercial, educational and residential buildings.
Interior designers
Interior designers for the four ex- hibition halls include: Charles Munro & Associates; Leslie Gooday & Asso- ciates; Casson, Conder and Partners; and Bowyer, Grange, Stringer.
