shows little change from the originally planned Harbour Centre. On the lot area of 93,000 sq. ft. the 17 floors above ground rise to a height of 186 ft. and fill a frontage of 300 ft.
To break up the mass, the hori zontal line is emphasised and there is a slight set back at the sixth floor to express the separation of the commer- cial and the domestic floors. Small canopies above windows on every floor act as sun shades, and a main canopy at first floor level projects 10ft. from the building for the pro- tection of pedestrians.
The six lower floors, being com- mercial area, cover the whole site, while the upper 11 floors, being domestic area, have 30 per cent. site coverage and form an H-shape.

A flat floor slab of 10in. thick was designed for the first, second and third floors to allow for mechanical services in the ceiling without interruption of the beams.
