Hyster's C550 Pneumatic Compacter works all three stages of compaction-embankment, base and asphalt-and it compacts bituminous mixes from initial to finish rolling.

Dual seats and controls provide the operator with excellent visibility from either side, traveling either direction. Exclusive centerpoint steering maintains tire overlap for coverage on curves and enables the C550 to compact around a 9-foot curb radius. Four inches

of true vertical plane oscillation in each wheel keeps tire loading equal and eliminates bridging and scuffing.

A powerful 97 hp diesel engine, torque converter and 3-speed manual transmission with powershift forward and reverse ensure dependable operation, even in deep lifts or at high altitudes. Fully ballasted at 40,500 lbs., the C550 develops ground contact pressures up to 102 psi with optional 20-ply tires.
