PUMP
The Jet Set Mark 1 submersible pump is flexible shaft driven. The shafts being identical with those used for CEL pendulum-action vibrating pokers.

The motor couplings are designed for instant changeover from pump to vi- brator or vice versa.
The manufacturer, Compacting Equipment Ltd, Millers Road, War- wick, UK, also offers adaptors which enable the equipment to be used with any make of 3,000 r.p.m. prime mover.
The Jet Set pump needs no priming and can be operated from a total of 60 ft. of flexible drive if required; it is of 2 in. capacity with a rated delivery of 9,000 gallons per hour at ground level and 2,400 g.p.h. at 40 ft. head.
The filter grill is so designed as to make the pump virtually unchokeable and capable of handling mud, slurry and effluents.
TRACTOR SCRAPER
With a weight/horsepower ratio of 313 lb./h.p. at rated payload and a torque of 925 ft.-lb. at 1,400 r.p.m. the Model 260 series A tractor scraper has capacities of

Power plant is the Allis-Chalmers Model 21000H Mark II diesel, six- cylinder in-line 844 cu. in. displace- ment engine which provides 300 fly- wheel h.p. at 2,050 r.p.m. The torque
converter
power shift transmission has five forward gears and one reverse. Automatic torque converter lockup in the top four gears gives a total of nine speeds forward.
The colour-coded shift indicator shows the operator when to shift into each gear, or when he is underspeed or overspeed in each gear.
Brakes are air-actuated, wedge-type expanding shoe, with a total contact area of 1,312 sq. in. on the scraper and tractor axles. An optional moisture ejector-alcohol injector removes most of the moisture from the braking sys- tem and injects alcohol to volatize the
rest.

TRACTOR SHOVEL
The Merton 160B four-wheel drive tractor shovel is powered by a 163 b.h.p. diesel engine with a twin-turbine torque converter and power-shift trans- mission.
Its maximum lifting capacity is 27,000 lb. (12247 kg.), and a load of 16,500 lb. (7484 kg.) can be applied to the bucket in its maximum forward position before the rear wheels lift.
Features include automatic controls for discharge height and bucket level. Disc brakes are operated by a dual- circuit braking system to front and rear

CUTTING MACHINE
The RU 18/5/30 angle-cutting machine has a 12 in. diameter blade that may be used for cross cutting and angle cutting in wood, brass, alumi- nium and light alloys, and in plastic.

The machine weighs 210 lb. and is readily transportable.
A 2.5 h.p. motor drives the blade at speeds of 1,400 and 2,800 r.p.m. The cutting head can be positively locked at a 90 deg. angle, and at 15, 22%, 30 and 45 deg. to either side of this, by means of a spring-loaded latch located on the front of the machine, the angles being shown on an easily-read indicator above the latch; intermediate angles cannot be set.
A clear Perspex safety guard en- closes the lower part of the blade and operates automatically when the head is lowered on to the work by means of a lever. Cutting capacity ranges from 71⁄2 in. by 24 in. at 90 deg. to 5%1⁄2 in. by 24 in. at 45 deg.
