VIBRATOR
A maintenance-free tool for con- solidating concrete is being marketed by Stow Manufacturing Co., 627 Shear Street, Binghampton, New York, USA. It is a high frequency external con- crete vibrator called the model XHF900.
It produces 10,000 v.p.m.'s at 900, 700 or 500 lb. of impact force. The different impacts are achieved through a simple adjustable eccentric

feature. The totally enclosed universal motor operates on 115 volts AC/DC current at 25 to 60 cycles. A quick breakaway bracket allows the vibrator to be attached to any form.
to a specific point 65 ft. high or 25 ft. below ground level.
The eccentric rides on heavy duty ball bearings for longer life. As the motor is totally enclosed it can be used inside or outside.
CONCRETE CARRIER
The mobile truck unit is an all- purpose companion for any concrete pump. It can be set on the job site and served by a concrete pump from a remote location away from mud and congestion.
b.h.p. (S.A.E.), and the transmission gives four gears forward and in reverse, with a maximum speed of 24 m.p.h.
New steering rams have been fitted, operating at an increased hydraulic force and flow, and the redesigned hydraulic control-lever arrangement is said to require less force to operate. Steel replaces glass fibre in the con- struction of the cab, which is fitted with a demister.
The unit is competely self-con- tained with pipe, hose and other op- erating accessories and a 300-gallon pressurised water system for cleaning up. It also has a six-ton towing winch and trailer hitch for pulling a trailer- mounted pump to the site. Light con- trols permit the precise manoeuvring of the end of the boom at the truck or from a remote control at the pour site.
A new Case boom carrier, modèl CB80, has a three-section folding arti- culated boom that can deliver concrete
Modifications to the cooling sys- tem allow the machine to be worked at higher ambient temperatures, and the bucket's digger teeth have been strengthened. The gear-change linkage and radiator mountings have also been improved.
Weighing 17,000 lb., the vehicle is powered by a 361 cu.in. HD V-8 petrol engine with a five-speed trans- mission and two-speed electric shift rear axle. The unit can travel up to 65 m.p.h. over the road. It has a transport clearance of 11ft. 6in., a length of 30ft. and width of 93in. The wheel- base is 142 in.
The L62B has a standard bucket of 2 cu.yd. capacity, a payload of 6,000 lb. and develops a breakout force of 15,000 lb. Maximum lifting capacity to the carry position is also 15,000 lb. At a 40-deg. discharge angle, the maxi- mum dumping height is 10ft. 51⁄2in. and the top load-over height is 12 ft. All four wheels have servo-assisted, hydraulic disc brakes.
The makers are F.E. Weatherill Ltd., Welwyn Garden City, Herts., UK.
DUMPER
Designed to operate in the roughest conditions, the Roughrider Super 2 two-ton, four-wheel drive dumper is fitted with hydraulically assisted steer- ing and has a turning radius of only 14ft. 3in.
The heavy gauge steel chassis has a split in the middle configuration, The makers are J.I. Case Co., 700 which forms both the backbone of the State Street, Racine, Wis., USA.
LOADING SHOVEL
An improved version of the L62B four-wheel drive hydraulic loading shovel is fitted with a Clark transmis- sion which makes it easier to operate.
The power output of the six- cylinder Leyland D.I. diesel engine has been increased by five per cent to 135

machine and the steering pivot, en- suring that front and back axles follow the same line.
The machine has four 7.50 by 20 wheels and tyres and fully floating axles with a high ground clearance. It is powered by a Petters PH2 air-cooled diesel engine, with power transmitted through a three forward and one re- verse speed constant mesh gearbox.
