THE SPITFIRE 70 series of self-

priming centrifugal pumps is of basically simple construction and will take most types of stationary engine or electric motor up to 31⁄2 h.p. Maintenance is said to be easy and inexpensive, the replacing of an im- peller or diffuser involving the re- moval of only six nuts.

Models with branch sizes of 1, 11⁄2, 2 and 21⁄2 in. constitute the series with capacities ranging from 3,500 to 9,000 g.p.h. There is also a 3 in.

The steel casing may have a hori- zontal, vertical or 45 degree outlet, and an oil-resistant rubber clack valve eliminates the need for a foot valve on the suction hose and ensures that enough water is retained in the body for re-priming. The seal unit is in a sealed oil chamber away from the pumped liquid and clear of abrasive materials. All models may be close coupled, or fitted with a bearing housing for a belt or flexible drive.

The pumps are fitted on to a steel base with rubber feet, and have carry- ing handles. The five smaller models are approximately 17 in. by 15 in. by 17 in. high, and weigh 65 lb., while the 3 in. version measures 29 in. by 17 in. by 21 in. and weighs 130 lb. The pumps are self-priming to 25 ft.. and their maximum total head is 83 ft. Warwick Pump & Engineering Co. VIBRATOR

2 h.p. Electic Model With Skid Base

STOW Manufacturing Co. are now producing a 2 h.p. electric concrete vibrator, the model 200EA which has a skid type base to allow the operator to drag the motor assembly along be- hind him.

The unit has a universal motor that develops 2 h.p. at 10,000 vibrations per minute. It is available with flexi- ble shafting from 3 ft. to 35 ft. in length. The 8 in. diameter core of this shaft rotates inside a flexible cas- ing lined with oil tempered spring steel, reinforced with wire braid, and covered with an oil resistant rubber jacket.

There are eight different vibrator heads: five round heads in % to 21⁄2 in. diameters and three fin-heads in

% to 15% in. dia- meter sizes which about double the vibrating efficiency

of the round heads. These vibrator heads have high speed bearings at each end and high speed shaft which retains oil lubrication for life.

Built-in Paraffin Burner Heats Mains Water Supply

WHEN connected to mains water and electricity supplies, the Tempest mobile cleaner can deliver a high- pressure jet of water with additive for general cleaning and degreasing work. A blower-assisted paraffin burner pro- vides a choice of hot as well as cold water for the spray.

In addition to the paraffin burner. the Tempest incorporates a 11⁄2 gal. container for paraffin, a 2 gal. inter- changeable plastic container for deter- gent or other additive, and a small control tank for the incoming water supply. A 4 h.p. electric motor
