hand under Phase One. It is also expected that the railway adminis- tration will complete the new rail- way embankment, enabling maximum storage to be impounded in the reservoir so that full irrigation sup- ply can be maintained.
Works to be undertaken in Phase Two, during the 1966-1970 period, will cost another estimated MS8 mil- lion. They include:
Completion of all reconstruction works on the existing old structures as well as renewals and additional structures where necessary;
Extension of the supply scheme to the southern section of the entire
area:
Completion of the reconstruction of the protective coastal bunds:
Raising and construction of dis- tributaries. some of which are 50 years old, and reconstruction of old drains.
Consultants
For the main structures, spillway and intake, the consulting engineers are Sir William Halcrow and Partners, London, S.W.1. The survey of the reservoir was undertaken by Valentine and Dunne, Kuala Lum- pur, and the Drainage and Irrigation Department Headquarters was sponsible for the rest of the design work.
