A "Blue Monday" or "Monday morning hangover" cannot happen, as all Mondays have been eliminated. There are no bothersome non-productive Saturdays and Sundays no compensatory leave or overtime to worry about.

With no 15th. 30th or 31st, no "time-off" is necessary for cashing salary cheques or paying bills in fact there is no salary cheque either. Finally, there is a new day each week called Negotiation Day.

Bark and Concrete Building Material

A METHOD of making a building material containing about 50 per cent of bark or wood chips has been de veloped by Mr. Tor Ottenholm, of Vittsjo, South Sweden. Known as "bark_concrete," the product also contains coarse clinker, sand and cement.

After a grinding process, the bark or chips pass through a mechanical tumbler or concrete mixer of con- ventional type, being sprayed with a special chemical powder that acts as a rapid setting cement. Chemical combustion takes place in the course of the process, and every single bark or chip particle is instantaneously glazed.

Since about half the volume of bark or chip parti- cles consists of water, no additional water is needed for the calcinating process. After twelve hours of treatment, the bark particles have turned clay-like. In the finished product, they can thus take the place of the coarse gravel normally being a chief ingredient in building concrete.

Prefabricated building components made of bark con- crete, with a surface finish, are said to possess high com- pressive strength and good thermal and sound insulating properties. The expansion and shrinkage factors are neg ligible.
