Modern Club for Philippine Elks
N
Ew offices and headquarters in
the Philippines for the Elks Club are soon to be erected at Makati, Rizal.
Architects, Eugenio Juan Gonzales and Associates, have prepared de- signs for a three-storey reinforced concrete structure providing a com- plete range of sporting facilities and social amenities.
On the ground floor will be sauna, therapy rooms, hot rooms, steam baths and locker areas. The games and amusement area includes four tennis courts, four badminton courts, a gymnasium, an eight-lane bowling alley and a swimming pool. The machine room is located beneath the gymnasium and is accessible from the service stairs.
Entrance to the ground floor is beneath a ramped driveway which leads from the parking ground to the main canopied entrance at first floor level.
The first floor contains the main lobby, a spacious dining hall, kit- chens, main lounge, bar and offices. Balconies and covered dining ter- races are provided on both sides of the building.
The top floor, for use exclusively by male members of the club, fea- tures seven guest rooms, a members' lounge and bar, a recreation room and loge. Access is by lift or stair-
case.
A central air-conditioning system will be installed to serve the entire building.
Materials to be used will in- clude parquet floors, tinted glass, roof tiling and marble facings.
