The driver serves as a torque trans- mitting device, a load carrying member supporting the weight of the vehicles, and a pneumatic suspension system absorbing and dampening relative motion and vibration between ground and the machine.

Track assemblies consist of shoes with double grousers (optional single grousers are recommended where trac- tion is a problem), and link assemblies.

ALTERNATORS

Six Kwik-Power models ranging from 2000 to 5000 rated watt capaci- ties are included in a new line of port- able alternators made by Desa Indus- tries Inc., Power Products Division, 2500 S. Western Avenue, Park Forest, III., U.S.A. The units allow contractors to continue work when permanent power is not available.

Two of the models, one of 2500 watts and the other of 3750 watts cap- acity, are long life, slow speed, 1800 rpm units, designed for continuous use. Three of the sets are equipped with Econo-Power electronic idling control
