In November of 1965, the new Japanese Antarctic observation ship Fuji started on her maiden voyage to the Antarctica.

The vessel is complete with Japan's high-level scientific apparatuses that were not had on the former Antarctic boat Soya.

For perfect air conditioning and refrigeration. DAIKIN's systems are used everywhere. and thereby the people and equipment on the ship can be kept well in the severe climate of the "white continent".
