a heavy duty sliding sheave clutch. This is an important safety feature because it stops the machine the instant the operator releases the han- dle, yet the engine does not shut off.
Stow 3ft. finisher
This feature also allows the engine to be started at any throttle position including full. A Stationary quard ring for safety is standard; this allows the operator to work right up the walls and other obstacles with complete safety.
Additional features include a long adjustable handle and a handle mount- ed blade pitch control knob which lets the operator instantly adjust the pitch of the blades even while the blades are revolving.

TRUCKS
Motor Co., Brentwood, Essex, UK, have introduced a new range of trucks and tippers, the D900's, for operation at 14 tons.
Powering the range as standard is the Ford 380 six-cylinder in-line diesel engine. Optional power is the turbo- charged 360 diesel which develops 150

b.h.p. All models have heavy duty transmission with a choice of gear- boxes and axles.
Service braking is by dual-line air- over-hydraulic system, similar to that of the existing D series heavy truck models. If either of the airlines fail, half braking power is still available on both axles; if the hydraulic circuit
should break there would still be full
braking on one axle. Power-assisted steering is standard on all models.
WELDING PLANT
The Petbow MU22/PB30 welding plant is designed to meet the exacting requirements of a diesel driven unit capable of carrying out CO2/mig/tig or stick welding on pipelines and similar applications.
The plant has a m.i.g. current rating of 300 amps at 40 volts on a 100% duty cycle with stepless voltage adjustment from 12-50 volts, stepless slope control and variable inductance. A single rotary switch selects either m.i.g. or stick welding.
The same controls cover the full range of stick welding by providing stepless current control from 40-400 amps and stepless voltage control from 60-90 volts.
Utilising a brushless D.C. welding generator, the unit has a separate heavy duty auxiliary generator providing 500 watts, 110 volts, single phase A.C. for the wire feed motor and 1500 watts, 110 volts D.C. for heater, grinders, power tools or lighting while welding.
