BATHROOM FITTING

Combined Flushing Unit and Hand Basin

A NEW approach to space saving in the small bathroom or toilet is claim- ed for the Valette, a combined flush- ing unit and hand basin produced by Fordham Pressings Ltd., Dudley Road, Wolverhampton, UK.

The complete unit is only 45 in. in overall width and has a projection from the wall of 17 in. It has rein- forced glass fibre base incorporating the cistern compartment and Perspex wash basin moulding which also forms the top of the cistern.

Watercheck Curb at Skyline of Flat Roofs

ROOF edge trim sections extruded from glass reinforced polyester resin (GRP) have been developed by D. Anderson & Son Ltd, Stretford, Manchester, UK, to provide a water- check curb and a clean, sharp edge

at the skyline of flat or sloping roofs where a parapet is not required.

Advantages of GRP sections are that they form a natural waterproof bond with hot bitumen or asphalt and have a negligible change in length with variation in temperature, avoid- ing the necessity for gaps between lengths when fixing. GRP is also a tough, corrosion free and weather re- sistant material and permits colour to be introduced.

The sections have a 11⁄2 in. face, a 21⁄2 in. or 4in. long fixing arm and a tapered aperture on top of the fixing arm to receive built-up or mastic asphalt waterproofing. The trim is secured with screws at about 18in. centres. Standard lengths are 10ft., and 3in. long spigots connect the lengths together.

Two New Models from Allied Ironfounders

Two new units have been added to the standard range of Leisure stain- less steel domestic sinks made by Allied Ironfounders Ltd., Nottingham Road, Long Eaton, Nottingham, They are

the PTDD 2154 and the TS 23.

A double-drain- er sink, the PTDD 2154 incorporates an 181⁄2 in. by 15 in. by 8 in. bow! and two drainers reduced to 1734 in. in length. The sound deadened sink top has mirror polished sloping

in. splash-back with a 9/16 in. polished top which forms a seating for wall tiles. The bowl is prepared for an overflow and standard 11⁄2 in. waste, though a 31⁄2 in. waste can be pierced to house a basket strainer waste or waste disposal unit, if re- quired. Tapholes are pierced at 7 in.

The three-bowl TS 23 sink (42 in. by 151⁄2 in.), has been designed for use in conjunction with a waste dis- posal unit. The central round bowl with a 31⁄2 in waste hole is set be- tween two rectangular general purpose bowls each measuring 15 in. by 14 in. by 7 in. deep.

The sink has a polished flange sur- round and is prepared for "T" nut fixing into a worktop. Overflows, supplied loose for fitting on site, are available for the two outer bowls if required.
