outside in emergency situations. The outside knob of the exterior-door set, fitted with a five-pin cylinder, is lock- ed by means of a turn button on the inside knob. Access can then be gained only by key, but releasing the turn button allows this lockset to operate

as an unlocked latch when required. Turning the inside knob unlocks the set for exit, whether the turn button is in the locked position or not.

GROUT

A premixed plasticised expanding grout material has been developed by a British company to simplifty site mix- ing and ensure the production of pre- determined high compressive strengths. The material, available in two grades for pumping and for general use, needs only the controlled addition of water on site.

Containing specially selected aggre. gate fillers, the grout combines an ex- panding medium and a plasticising agent. The resulting material is parti- cularly suitable for bedding heavy machinery and for all applications where high early strengths and non- shrink properties are required.

By generating gas during the hydra- tion process before the initial set takes place, the expanding medium counter- acts the natural settlement and con- traction of the grout. The plasticising agents combine to produce a free-flow- ing mix with a relatively low water/ cement ratio, facilitating placement and injection. These factors increase grout stability and cohesion and en- sure controlled expansion. The ab- sence of shrinkage ensures complete continuity of contact with all surfaces of the grout.
