Containerization is in its early stages in Asia it's growing rapidly and pretty soon storing empty containers is going to create a big problem. Land is scarce and far too valuable to allow masses of containers to be spread over enormous areas and to take away from the beauty of Asia.
Otis CONTAINERPORT is the answer to this problem. It's a vertical storage and retrieval system for 20 ft. and 40 ft. containers, ten levels high, served by moving towers carrying vertical hoists. Each tower mounted hoist is capable of lifting containers from a truck chassis, storing it, retrieving another container and loading it on to another truck chassis within three minutes.
