ART of the programme to build flats for all the married staff of the Hong Kong Police Department, the Wong Tai Sin rank and file quar- ters provides 791 homes and is one of the largest projects completed to date.

The flats are 12 storeys high and are arranged in four blocks on an L- shaped site. Each flat is self-contain- ed with a living room/bedroom, kit- chen, WC and shower, and a ver- andah.

Seventy-five per cent. of the flats (587) have a living room of 235 sq. ft. (six persons) and a verandah of 60 sq. ft., while nine per cent (72) have living rooms of 295 sq. ft. (eight per- sons).
