gregate weighhatcher is again ready to discharge a new load of weighbatch- ed aggregates into the mixer.
Batching of the cement is effected by means of cement weighhatchers provided with weigh dial heads to en- sure control of the filling and dis- charging operations. With one model a vertical screw conveyor system is incorporated in the upright support construction, enabling the silos to be erected at ground level.
The Portabil plant can be set up for completely automatic working.
Arbau, Heidelberg, W. Germany. are the makers. They are represented in Hong Kong by Otto Wolff, PO

TRUCKS
Eleven New Models from International
INTERNATIONAL Harvester are mar- keting a new range of Australian made conventional cab trucks the C Line. There are 11 basic models ranging in capacity from 6,000 to 25,000 lb. G.V.W. and 9,500 to 53.- 000 lb. G.C.W.
Nine models, including the two four wheel drives, are available with a choice of two or more wheelbases and optional diesel engines are speci- fied for four.
Individual. calibrated instruments are fitted. They are arranged in a black housing directly in front of the driver. Instrumentation depends on the unit, but all models have રી speedometer and odometer, an en- gine oil pressure gauge, a water tem- perature gauge, fuel level gauge and
an ammeter.
All models have power assisted brakes for low pedal pressures and "zone toughened" safety glass wind-
screens.
The International 6-281 engine is fitted to all light and light-medium duty models. The engine has a dis- placement of 282.5 cu. in.. a stroke of 4% in. and a bore of 3-13/16 in. Other International petrol engines specified for the new range are the 6-282 six cylinder and the V-345 eight cylinder. Two diesel engines are specified as optional, the Perkins 6.354 for medium and medium-heavy duty models and the Cummins CF- 160 for the largest truck of the range, the C-1840.
Brakes on all models are power as- sisted and on all but the smallest truck in the range. the C-1100. they

are of proven drum type design. The C-1100 has disc brakes on all wheels as standard equipment.

PIPE BENDER
Hand Operated Machine Bends Tubes of 3 in. Diameter
THE Tubela HO hand operated tube bending machine is suitable for site work, having a powerful, quick-re- lease pump ram unit which enables it to be rapidly set up for working or easily released for transporting or ser- vicing.
Standard equipment comprises base frame, hand hydraulic pump, exten- sion ram, end formers and pins, to-

3 in. pipes.
The 20 in. stroke double acting ram/cylinder unit will pull a 90 de- gree bend in 3 in. pipe in 60 seconds.
Further information is available from the makers, Tubela Engineer- ing Co., Ltd.. Fowler Road, Hainault Ilford, UK.
HORIZONTAL BORER
Saves Opening Up Roads for Pipe Laying
IN many instances the cost of open- ing up roads for pipe and cable lay- ing can be saved by the use of a horizontal under-road borer. The Ebco HB.6 borer, offered by The Earth Boring Machine Co. Ltd., 48 West Street. Portchester. Hants.. UK. uses internal combustion engines, air

motors or hydraulic drives as requir- ed and can be operated by one man in a small excavation.
In average conditions it will bore nearly 100 ft. of 3 in. diameter and 30 ft. of 12 in. diameter. The mole bit consolidates the bore without re- moving the spoil.
Further information can be had from the manufacturers who are seek- ing agents in S.E. Asia.
TRACTOR SHOVEL
Multi-purpose Bucket Attachment
ULRICH multi-purpose buckets are now available as an optional fitting on Merton 130B and 100B four-wheel drive tractor shovels. The attachment consists of a dozer blade measuring 94 in. wide x 44 in. high, with a 26 in. deep hinged section in front form- ing a bucket of either 1 cu. yd. or 2 cu. yd. capacity depending on the type of model.
This hinged section describes an angle of 90 degrees but, because it articulates via a bell crank and link- age arrangement rather than via a sim- ple pivot, three quarters of the dis- tance travelled by the closing jaw is substantially parallel to the ground. This feature is useful when picking up individual boulders from a grassed or otherwise prepared surface.
Since the forward section of the bucket closes in a vice-like action, the shovel will grip pipes. concrete sec- tions or lumber of up to 36 in. dia- meter. When operating as an excava- tor, the bucket will dig to a depth of 5 ft. and load dump trucks from a height of 12 ft. 5 in. (3.78 in).
Merton shovels are made by Mer ton Engineering Co. Ltd., Faggs Road, Feltham, Middx. UK. Agents are: Monark International Inc.. Rizal. Philippines: Pan Supplies Co. Ltd., Bangkok: and Faupel Bros. Ltd., Lon- don, E.C.1, (for Sabah and Brunei).
