Dwellings built by Walflor system
studding, lathing and rendering material. The studding is of tight-coat galvanised steel with tangs at regular inter- made of vals. Waterproof, paper-backed metal mesh galvanised wire fits closely to both sides of the stud- ding to form cavity walls. Sand-cement lime mortar is then rendered over the meshing making for a light, but strong clean-lined wall. The cavities can be left empty for tropical countries or filled with insulating material, such as polystyrene. No chasing or trunking for services is needed since the cavity walls fulfil this need.
Arches, cantilevers and piers can easily be incor- porated into the structure and buildings can be of 35 ft. clear spans, but orthodox steel frames are required to supply the additional strength for multi-storey buildings.
The floor system consists of latticed joists with double bars top and bottom spaced with latticed rods which pro- ject above the top bars to form shear connectors. The joists are laid on the perimeter beams at about one foot centres. Lathing is then laid with the shear connectors projecting through the lath and a 21⁄2 to 3 in. thick con- crete sub-floor is laid ready to accept any suitable screed or finish.
Walflor Systems Ltd., 131 Myddleton Road, London, N. 22, developed the system.
Danish Company Offers Hotels to World Market
A NEW Company has been formed in Copenhagen with the purpose of exporting tailor-made hotels. Behind the company, called Danish Turnkey Hotels Ltd., is a number of firms each specialising in one particular field of the building industry. The close co-operation between these firms has made it possible to find a flexible solution to type-hotels of international standard.
The firms include a construction firm, an electrical contractor, an air-conditioning and refrigerating firm, a firm making kitchen equipment and an interior decorator. They offer hotels built to a modular system and designed according to the wish of the buyer. All the components are of Danish manufacture.

..we'll tell you about the things
you can't see
Like their colleagues in the Prestex range, these new fittings are made in a special way. And there's only one firm in the world that makes taps like this. Peglers. That's us. Peglers of Doncaster. What's our secret? It could be that we take more care over brass foundry than anyone else. Or that we chromium plate to almost twice the British Standards. Or perhaps that we're one of the largest makers of plumbing fit.ings in the world - and our techniques are as modern as our designs. Whatever it is, it enables us to make fine taps at ordinary prices. Rather than tell you our secrets, we'll sell you our fittings, and you get priority on delivery too. Just let us know you're interested-soon.
