* Approved by Special Warrant during the year.

The new post of Senior Field Officer is created to replace the post of Senior Livestock Supervisor. The additional 2 posts of Field Officer Class I are to replace 2 posts of Laboratory Technician. 3 new posts of Laboratory Attendant, which are offset by the deletion of 3 posts of Labourer, are provided to assist in laboratory analysis of plant, soil, fertilizer, water etc. samples. 8 additional posts of Labourer are required in connexion with the maintenance of Government grounds and amenity planting in the New Territories.

In spite of the continuous increase in revenue and expenditure and the provision of additional services by Government, the introduction of new audit programmes has made it possible to keep the number of posts at the 1963-64 level but a small increase in certain provisions under Other Charges Annually Recurrent is necessary.
