本 Approved by Special Warrant during the year.

The additional Superintendent (Force Catering Officer), approved by Special Warrant during the year, is required to reorganize and supervise the catering in all Rank and File messes. Four additional Superintendents/Assistant Superintendents are required for normal expansion in the Special and Criminal Investigation Branches and are offset by the reduction of two posts of Senior Superintendent. Forty one Inspectors, four Women Sub-Inspectors and 458 additional Rank and File are necessary for general expan- sion and to meet new commitments. Against these increases there is a reduction of one Chief Inspector. Five Executive Grade Officers are required to replace four Inspectors in the Immigration Office and one Inspector engaged in statistical work in C.I.D. Headquarters, these increases being offset by a reduction of five Inspectors. The twenty one new posts of Secretary/Stenographer are occasioned by the splitting of the old Confidential Assistant grade and are offset by a reduction of thirteen Confidential Assistants; the net increase of eight posts is required to cope with the increased volume of work of a confidential nature. Of the three additional Interpreter/Translators, two are required to deal with increased work in C.I.D. Head- quarters and one for the preparation of teaching material at the Police Training School. The post of Chief Executive Assistant and the additional post of Senior Executive Assistant are included to provide proper promotion prospects for the Executive Assistants employed in Special Branch and the Anti-Corruption and Narcotics Bureau; the creation of these posts is offset by the reduction of one post of Executive Assistant. Sixty seven clerks/typists are required to deal with normal expansion and to relieve Constables engaged on clerical duties. A small clerical training pool will be established from the additional clerks/typists to implement the Salaries Commission's recommendations. Against these increases there is a reduction of nine
