During the financial year 1960/61, both the R.H.K.D.F. Administrative Officer and the Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant will be on long leave. The Temporary Staff Officer and Temporary Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant posts provided under the section "Attached Services Personnel" will enable temporary reliefs to be posted to the Force during the absence of the two substantive officers.

The increase in provision under Other Charges Annually Recurrent is mainly attributable to increased expenditure on ammunition. In the past ammunition for training was drawn from old stocks which have now been run down. Future requirements will accordingly have to be purchased. The cost of repairs to signals and wireless equipment was previously charged to the Stores and Equipment subhead. A new item was created in the Maintenance subhead by Special Warrant during the year to show this type of expenditure more clearly.

$39,800 has been included in the Special Equipment subhead for the purchase of an initial stock

of the new FN rifle for training purposes.

Approved by Special Warrant during the year.

The Officer Instructor will be on vacation leave from March until November, 1960 and one supernumerary post has been included to enable a relief officer to be seconded. The other supernumerary post has been provided to enable a replacement to be appointed during the leave of the Maintenance Officer who has completed his contract.

The increased expenditure under Other Charges Annually Recurrent is accounted for by the replacement of the old Motor Minesweepers by Inshore Minesweepers.
