AS
The value of exports showed slight improvement from $535 million in 1934 to $576 million for the year under review, which, considering the general world. depression and the many adverse factors affecting China in particular, is distinctly encouraging. The reductions in the Export Tariff, affective from Jupe 1934, have no doubt assisted in some degree to this result, but the most hopeful feature remains in the demand for many of China's. principal contri- butions to world economy and the likelihood of its expansion as years pass.
