For financial reasons little was done during the year under review to expand the already extensive network of roadways in the district, but some new air routes were opened up and Canton is now the terminus for the following regular air services: Canton to Shanghai via Swatow, Amoy, Foochow, and Wenchow; Canton to Peiping via Changsha and Hankow; Canton to Lunchow via Wuchow. and Nanning; and Canton to Pakhoi via Mowming and Kiung- chow.
