T.T. rates for foreign currencies were: sterling, 1s. 4d; French francs, 572; U.S. dollars, 28; and yen, 110. It may be of interest to add that the total value of imports into the Colony of Hongkong, including cargoes originating in China, was placed at 500.9 million Hongkong dollars for the year under review, as against 624 million in 1932 and 737.7 million in 1931, a decline for the year of nearly 20 per- cent. as compared with the figures for 1932 and of over 31 per cent. as compared with those for 1931; and that the value of the colony's exports was placed at 403.1 million dollars for the year under review, as against 471.9 million in 1932 and 542 million in 1931, a decline for the year of nearly 15 per cent. in comparison with the figures for 1932 and of nearly 26 per cent. as compared with those for 1931.
