Dairen, Port Arthur, Mukden, Tiehling and Hsinking. At the last-named place the Chinese Eastern Railway connects for Harbin and Europe by the Trans-Siberian Railway.

The principal trade of Newchwang is the export of beans and bean- cakes, but this is at present far from flourishing. The town contains many factories-textiles, matches, paper, etc.

The foreign (non-Japanese) population is now very sınall.
