The chief Imports in 1924 were :-Rice, $88,242; cotton stuff, $67,325; tobacco,- 67,283; cigars and cigarettes, $131,572; sugar, $45,243; and petroleum, $106,031. Re- enue is raised by means of "farms" and duties on all kinds of exports. The State reasurer returned the revenue at $779,032 in 1924 and the expenditure at $766,534, the corresponding figures for 1923 being $642,679 and $788,902. The total value of xports from Trengganu to Singapore in 1924 was $3,460,790, against $2,747,605 in 1923; and of imports from Singapore $1,031,300 in 1924, against $798,083 in 1923.

Regular steamship communication is maintained with Singapore and Bangkok,. nd locally-built motor-boats maintain passenger service along the Trengganu coast. programme of road construction that will connect Trengganu with Kelantan and he F.M.S. Railway system is now in hand. The rainfall and temperature conditions- re similar to those in the other Malay States.
