During the year 1922 Singapore was honoured by a visit from H.R. H. the Prince - of Wales. While on his Eastern tour H.R.H. performed the opening ceremony of a most successful Malaya-Borneo Exhibition. This exhibition lasted for over à fort-
a night and was largely attended. H.R.H. also unveiled a dignified and imposing cenotaph which has been erected on the esplanade at Singapore to commemorate men from the Settlement who fell in the Great War.
On his return journey H.R.H. visited Labuan and Penang. He was everywhere: welcomed by all communities with the greatest enthusiasm.
