Every description of repair work is undertaken. A large assortment of material including tail shafts are kept in stock. Two powerful tow boats, floating derrick to lift up to 45 tons, pneumatic, electric, hydraulic plants, etc. Manufacturers of engines, boilers, tugs, lighters, constructional steel work, etc. Tenders on short notice by letter or cable.

Warehouse Department:-92 buildings, principally of brick and steel, 310 entrances. 37 buildings are private bonded warehouses. Floor area 68,248 square yards or 14·10 acres. Direct water frontage of 2-36 miles in length, part having a depth of 25 feet at low water, suitable for steamers discharging direct into warehouses. Railway siding with direct con- nection to the Government Railways. Use of 45-ton derrick, tugs, launches, etc. Custom-house brokerage and insurance undertaken. Rates moderate.
