GENTLEMEN,

I am desired by the Commodore-in-Charge to express his great pleasure at the Coaling Operation which you carried out last week.

On the 14th instant a total of 3.7394 tons were handled by you, including the loading up of 2,600 tons at Lap-Sap-Wan between 7 a.m, and 12 midnight.

On the following day the loading of H.M.S. “TERRIBLE” with 2,600 tons was carried out, with every success, in 15 hours (including 2 hours for meals, &.,) and the Commodore and Commanding Officer of H.M.S. "TERRIBLE" have both expressed their satisfaction at this operation.

Both the No. 1 man and the coolies worked well, and the Captain of H.M.S. "CENTURION," who reported this to the Commodore, was also pleased with the rapid coaling of the ship.
