One per cent. per annum on the average value of such notes in cir- culation. To be collected monthly on a statement thereof to be furs nished by each Banker or Banking Company to the Collector of Stamp Revenue at the end of each month, and to be signed by the Banker, or Manager, or Agent, and Accountant of such Banker or Banking Company.

NOTE 1.—A Bill of Exchange for exactly 850 is to be charged 2 cents, and so throughout the table. NOTK 2, -When Bills of Exchange or other such documents are drawn in sets of two or more, half the above duties to be charged on each part of a set. If the Duty be 5 cents the first part of the set shall be ch∙rged 3 cents, and the other parts 2 cents exch.
NOT 3 In the case of Bills in sets drawn out of the Colony, the whole duty shall be payable on that part of the set
which is first pres uted for paymen' or acceptance, or 's first otherwise negotiated, the other parts being free.
