In default of the payment of such fines, the offender is to be imprisoned in the Consular gaol for any term not exceeding three months, with or without hard labour. Art. X.-All cases of death, and especially of sudden death, occurring on board of British vessels in the port of Bangkok, must be immediately reported at the Consulate.
Art. XI.-The discharge of guns from vessels anchored in the port of Bangkok, without notice having been previously given, and permission obtained though H.M. Consul from the proper Siamese authority, is forbidden, under a penalty not exceed、 ing ten pounds.
Art. XII.-It is strictly prohibited to shoot birds within the precincts of the Wats or Temples, either in Bangkok or elsewhere within the Siamese domiaions, or to injure or damage any of the statues or figures, the trees or shrubs in such localities of Siamese worship; any British subject or seaman of a British vessel guilty of such an act renders himself liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds, or in default thereof to an imprisonment in the Consular gaol for a period of not more than one month.
Art. XIII.-When a vessel under the British flag is ready to leave the port of Bangkok, the master will give notice at the Consulate office, and hoist a blue peter twenty-four hours before her departure, which is to fly until she breaks anchorage.
Art. XIV. Should any vessel take in or discharge cargo subsequent to the issue of the Siamese port clearance, as directed by the faith regulation above quoted, the master, as in a case of smuggling, subjects himself to a penalty of 800 Ticals (equal to £100), and goods so taken or discharged will be liable to confiscation.
Art. XV.-Every fine or penalty levied under these regulations is (if not paid in sterling money) at the rate of eight ticals Siamese currency for one pound.
