Mr. Mackenzie King, who paid a striking tribute to Mr. Churchill, said that Canada's entry into the war was the deliberate decision of a free people.

The mo- mentum of Canada's war production was increasing daily and she had become one of the arsenals of Democracy.

THE WAR EFFORT OF CANADA," said Mr. Churchill, HAS NOT HAPPILY, SO FAR, REQUIRED THE EFFUSION OF BLOOD UPON A LARGE SCALE BUT THAT EFFORT, IMMENSE IN SHIPS, AIRCRAFT AND AIR TRAINING, AND IN FINANCE AND FOOD, CONSTITUTES AN ELEMENT IN THE RESISTANCE OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE, WITHOUT WHICH.
