FLYING THROUGH HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS, AIRCRAFT OF THE BOMBER" COMMAND ON SATURDAY NIGHT BOMBED OBJECTIVES IN BREMEN AND ELSE WHERE IN NORTH-WESTERN GERMANY, CAUSING LARGE FIRES.

THE SHIPBUILDING YARDS AT BREST WERE ALSO ATTACKED. Two of our aircraft are missing from these night operations. Enemy air activity over Britain on Saturday night was again slight and was main- ly confined to the coastal areas.

Some bombs were dropped at a few points in the south-west and east of England but there were no casualties or damage.

The Moscow Radio broad- cast that the British airmen have shown the true side of Goering's boast that no Bri- tish bombs would fall in the Ruhr which was now working at 30 per cent. of its capacity. į Giving an impressive list of ob-) jectives bombed by the British since the beginning of July, the broadcast said that the Germans were worried Et the material damage that was being caused.

British planes had just brought to a close a week of almost non- stop raids,

Rogatchev is some miles east of Bobruisk, through which the Ger mans last week launched the southern art of their pincer drive on Smolensk.

The Nazis. says the report, failed to get across the Dnieper. not only owing to the timely blowing up of the bridge by the Russians, but also owing to the "robust fighting spirit of the Soviet soldiers."

The Germans penetrated Rogat- chev, but had to evacuate under fire from massed Soviet artillery.

MORE INFREQUENT This is typical of reports from the Nazi Propaganda Company-- 38 war correspondents with the German Army are called-but even these are becoming more and more infrequent in the Nazi press.

The Basler Nachrichter's Berlin correspondent said yesterday that the secrecy surrounding all events on the eastern front is now "even more striking than it was at the start of the campaign,"
