During last week, the re-embarkation of the personnel of the Empire Forces in Greece had been taking place in the most difficult conditions. Full results cannot yet be given, but at least 80 per cent. of the original force have already been safely con- veyed to areas where they can undertake further active employment.

THIS OPERATION WAS ONLY POSSIBLE AS A RESULT OF GREAT SKILL AND DEVOTION BY ALL THREE ARMS OF THE SERVICES.

KIEL, BERLIN RAIDED

THE TRANSFER OF MORE SHIPS AND DESTROY- ERS FROM THE UNITED STATES TO BRITAIN; and, necessary, provision for United States trans-Atlantic con- voys, is urged by MR. WENDELL WILLKIE in an article in the current issue of the widely read COLLIERS WEEKLY, says Reuter.

Mr. Willkle's article is a vigorous reply to the Isola- tionist article written by COL CHARLES LINDBERGH which appeared in a recent issue of the same magazine.

The views expressed by Mr. Willkie are editorially en- dorsed as "WISE AND, UP- RIGHT."

"We should furnish Britain with ships," said Mr. Wilkie, ships in our docks and coast ports, as well. as impounded ships of other na- tions, ships we are bullding, ships, until it hurts.

"Give Britain the destroyers, and if necessary, convoy the pro- duction of our factories and farma so that England will survive."

MONOTONY BROKEN LONDON, May 1 (Reuter) The monotony of ferrying American bombers across the Atlantic was broken for Flight-Lleüt. Gautrey on his last trip:

Circling round, he discerned, in semi-darkness, nine lifeboats clus tered together,

Most of the occupants were, standing up, waving.

Conspicuous were Lascars in blue dungarees.
