CHUNGKING, Apr. 23 (Central) Dr. Paul Monroe, well-known American educator, and professor of the Teachers College of Co- lumbia University, USA, arrived, here by plaze yesterday morning. He was honoured at ja welcome luncheon party given by Dr. H. H. King, Vice-President of the Executive Yuan and, Minis- ter of Finance, at noon.

Dr. J. Leighton Stuart, President of the Yenching University, Pel- ping, who arrived in. Chungking last week, has been busy calling on government and educational leaders during the past few days.

Interviewed by the Central News, Dr. Stuart declared that the Yen- ching University will, carry on 33 long as complete academic freedom can be maintained.

He revealed that there are 1,100 students in the University and 100 students in the middle school, The University authorities are planning to increase the enrolment in the University by 50 and that of the middle school by 100 the next academic year.
