"YOUNG PEOPLE"
Shirley Temple Scores Another Hit
Chock full of fun, songs and dances, "Young People," the 20th Century-Fox film which stars Shirley Temple, Jack Oakie and Charlotte Greenwood, gave audi- ences at the King's Theatre & rollicking good time yesterday:
Young People" is Shirley Tem- ple's twenty-second picture and it Is hier happiest hit. In it Shirley sings five grand tunes written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren: "Fth Avenue," "Tra-la-la-la," "T Wouldn't. Take a MUlion," "me, Mason-Dixon Line" and "Young People."
Jack Oakie 14 at his best in a while thoroughly humorous role Charlotte Greenwood Is leaner, lankier and funnier than ever,
The film has a stirring and su prising climax which caps the un- usual story. The outstanding per- formances were directed by Allan. Dwan, who worked from a superb screen play prepared by Edwin Blum and Don Ettlinger.
Arleen Whelan and George Montgomery turn in exceptionally tine performances in the romantic leads, while Kathleen Howard excells as the" small-town school- teacher.
