THE BOYS FROM LEE THEATRE

SYRACUSE

"The Boys From Syracuse." opening today at the King's Theatre, is rated as one of Broad- way's smash musical comedies and as a motion picture it will have even greater success..

8

From its opening on a beautiful ancient Grecian scène into series of whirlwind modern "gags" the aim proved full of surprises. Its setting is the Greece of yes- terday, but its comedy is as up- to-date as. tomorrow,

Cast honours are divided among nine players, prominent among whom are Allan Jones, Rosemary Lane, Irene Hervey, Martha Raye, Joe Penner, Charles Butterworth, Alan Mowbray and Eric Blore.

Of the six song numbers by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, Jones aings two-Who Are You?" and "Falling In Love With Love," Rosemary Lane also scores vocally |with "This Can't Be Love.”

Martha Raye, too, takes part in song with "The Greeks Have No Word For It."Sing For Your Sup per" and "He and She," the latter with Joe Penner.

MAJESTIC THEATRE

ATTRACTION

I Want A Divorce"

Whether it's because Dick Po- well and Joan Blondell happen to be man and wife of the screen, or because the pair. Have been blessed with a script packed with gay lines and delicious situations, their latest screen venture: Para- mount's "I Want Divorce," "is topnotch enjoyable screenfare and will be screened at the Majes- tic Theatre today.

There is perhaps no one factor which makes any picture a hit. This one is no exception. For in addition to the foregoing, the plc-. ture has the benent of Ralph Murphy's astute direction, his feeling for comedy and drama, and of the work of an exceptional group of supporting players, head- ed by Gloria Dickson, Frank Fay, Jessie Ralph and Conrad Nagel,

All the narrative is a-perkle with plenty of wit, and the situa- tions in which Joan and Dick and themselves from time to tline arc amusing," to make a mild enti mate. Moviegoers in search of light, clean entertainment should like "I Want a Divorce,"
