RECREIO SAVED BY THE RAIN: PEARCE'S POLISHED CENTURY BY "BARNABAS"
Rain caused the abandonment of all cricket matches but one on Saturday. In all instances, play had to be given up after the half- way stage was reached. The only match played to a finish was the one at Happy Valley where the Police brought off their first win of the season when they beat the University seconds in a League en- counter.

The University, in spite of being strengthened by the inclusion of three regular members of their First Team, proved no match for the Police. Against the accurate bowling of A, E. Carey and G. White, the Varsity found themselves in difMoulties right from the word go.
