LORD CHATFIELD WARNS ON THE POSSIBILITIES OF GERMANS MR. CURRIE INCREASING THEIR ATTACKS LEAVES AGAINST GREAT BRITAIN CHUNGKING

LORD CHATFIELD, FORMERLY MINISTER FOR CO-ORDINATION OF DEFENCE, ISSUED A WARNING YESTERDAY TO THE BRITISH PEOPLE ON THE POSSIBILITIES OF THE GERMANS INCREASING THEIR ATTACKS AGAINST ENGLAND, STATES A LONDON MESSAGE.

"We must expect more losses in merchant shipping. They may possibly be alarm- ing at times but you must p it your confidence in the Navy.

"THE GERMAN BROADCASTS ARE ALREADY ATTEMPTING TO SHOW THAT THE BRITISH SHIPPING LOSSES ARE HEAVY BUT THESE REPORTS ARE VERY GREATLY EXAGGERATED."

Another message from London states that it is being suggested to neutral corres- pondents in Berlin that the BALKANS and the MEDITERRANEAN are not considered by the Nazis as the main theatres of war.
