GEN. WU TE-CHEN COMPLETES SOUTH SEAS GOODWILL TOUR

Looking markedly sun-burnt after four-and-a-half "months of travelling in semi-tropical climes, GENERAL WU TE-CHEN, Minister of Overseas Affairs of the Chinese Government, has arrived in Hongkong from Burma. General Wu will proceed shortly to Chungking to report to the. Central authorities, his goodwill mission to the South Sea regions that began on Septem- ber 25 last year.

During his tour General Wu visited the Philippines, the Nether- lands East Indies, Malaya and Burma, covering approximately 10.000 miles. In the countries be passed through he was entertain- ed at about 160 cities and delivered some 300 speeches, both in English and Chinese.
