Due to these statements a theory offered by some people on the ship to the effect that he might have jumped overboard was not considered. Hs friends also stated that he was in sound finan- ¡cial condition and there did not seem to be any motive for an a tempt at suicide.

GOOD HUMOUR Fellow passengers on the Prest- dent Pierce declared that Mr. Wang attended a moving picture show on board, Leaving the show he was seen to be in good humour. The last time he was supposed to have been seen was, at about 4.30 a.m. Saturday, when fellow pas- sengers thought they saw him on deck. However, he failed to show up for breakfast.
