THE COMPLETE FAILURE OF FAR VIEW TO SECURE EVEN A MINOR PLACING IN THE FREEMANTLE ST, LEGER. after it was fully expected to give the winner. Sapper, a good run, was the most outstanding feature of the Tenth Extra Race" Meeting of the Hongkong Jockey Club on Saturday.

In spite of the overcast weather there was a fairly large attendance. His Excellency the Acting Governor, Lieut.-Genera? E. F. Norton, arrived in time to see Sapper's comfortable' win in the most important race of the day.

Dividends on the whole were satisfactory as favourites did not have everything their way. The higbest dividend of the day was paid by Boolat Bay in the Norfolk Handicap, second section, when it; paid each of its 228 backers $108.40; the highest "place" divi- dend of $63.50 was returned by Dick Turpin in the Queenscliff Handicap.

The following were the results of. by virtue of a comfortable win by 1st cruiser series championship of 22 shots to 8 over Mc R. Abbas, the Royal Hongkong Yacht Club Indian Recreation. Club skip. The salled yesterday:- game, played at the Kowloon Bowling Green Club, naisbed at the 16th end.

Neither player appeared at his best, and deplorable weather conditions contributed to taking the spectacular out of the game. Abbas, in the early stages, tended always to be short, and at no stage looked a winner.

Rakusen, who played a cautious game, seemed for the most part content to lay handy rather than -on-the jack. He drew come very good shots in the course of the afternoon, and on the day's show- ing thoroughly deserved to win.
