The market was steady but quiet.

NEW YORK COTTON: There was constant buying by the Trade. and covering of nears on reports of large textiles sales. Hedging was unusually light due to the continued diversions into Loan. There was a good demand for 'spot.'

NEW YORK RUBBER: A steady market. Shipment offerings were

light and at firm basis.

CHICAGO WHEAT:

The mills are reported to be nervous due to the firm, attitude of growers: Further advances are apparently necessary for diversions from the Loan into trade channels. To- day's buying was mostly attributed to mills and covering by shorts...
