Spoon And Practice Shoot Well Supported: Rain And Mist Interfere At Close

The Hongkong Rifle Association meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 16, was well supported by a large crowd of keen shots, 116 com- petitors taking part. All targets were in constant use, shooting taking place at 200, 500 and 600 yards.

For the first part of the afternoon a good light and little, wind made the task of the competitors fairly easy. However these conditions rapidly deteriorated when the shooting was half completed at 500 yards, as mist and rain with a varying wind drifted across the range almost obscuring the targets.

These conditions continued at 600 yards where in the fall- ing evening light it was very difficult to distinguish the targets. at all. There is no doubt that this very difficult light was the cause of a number of competitors aring at the wrong targets.
